Cornell Cooperative Extension Warren County recently presented the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund with the Community Partner Award at its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition held at the Hiland Golf Club in Queensbury. The Award is presented to a business or non-profit that supports the educational and programming efforts of the organization and shares the commitment of building strong and vibrant communities.
“The Ben Osborn Fund has allowed the 4-H Youth Development Program of Extension to provide a gentle lift to several youth,” said John Bowe 4-H Association Team Coordinator/Assistant Director. “By providing those funds, 4-H youth members have learned about American history and politics, career options, and the opportunity to participate in the Adirondack Guide Program with the proper equipment.” He continued “4-H grows confidence and with the help of the Ben Osborn Memorial Fund, every member who has benefited from the Fund’s outreach has been able to confidently represent Warren County.”
As the youth development program of the Cooperative Extension System of land-grant universities, 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, empowering six million young people throughout the United States to “learn by doing.”
